Large frame DA revolver, .44 cal., 4-1/2” barrel, left side of frame marked with desirable “Shreve & Wolf, San Francisco” agent stamping, cast deluxe molded black hard rubber grips, #NVSN. This gun is in overallgood condition showing an old cleaning to metal surfaces with scattered pin prick pitting, action is working but intermittent, dark bore, good markings including “CALIFORNIA BULL-DOG” on top of frame, goodgrips with mythical figurehead at the top of each grip. Shreve & Wolf of San Francisco were a high end retailer of fine jewelry, etc. during the mid-to-late 1800s; very few firearms are found with their stampings andthis big Bull Dog would have been a powerful deterrent to the criminal element in the City by the Bay. Buyer pays actual costs of packing, materials, shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
