Large clip point knife by IXL George Wostenholm, Sheffield. Approx 14-3/8” overall and 9-1/2” blade. Blade shows hot stamped marking with etching of American eagle, California knife, and patriotic slogans. Heavy German silver crossguard, 5/16” stock heavy blade, stag scales. Original sheath with fancy scalloped tip. Good to very good condition showing some sharpening, light pitting, aging, and use, with hole drilled through the grip with remnant of the string lanyard. Showing repair to a chip in the right scale. Late 19th to early 20th century – not 1950’s to 60’s. Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $2,000 - $3,000
