19th.-20th. century blue jadeite carving featuring a young boy climbing on side of a giant corn husk. The side features 2 large grape clusters and on top, ling zhi in brown jade color of the stone's natural "skin". This is a high quality of jade carving in a very rare natural blue jade stone. Dimensions: 6.5" x 4.5" ( 16.5 cm. x 11.5 cm.). Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of the collectors textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors". Estimated retail value: $8500.
