Large antique Morton & Nixon spear point knife with sheath, approx. 12-1/2” overall with an 8” blade marked “Of The Best Quality” with “Morton & Nixon, Allen St.” on ricasso on one side and red Abels’ #17 on the other side, fancy metal cross guard with stag grip scales and pierced decorative shields on each side, concealed tweezers in butt of one scale (other scale is missing its tweezers). This knife is in overall near fine condition showing the majority of its original polish on one side of the blade and a very light frosting to the original polish of the other side of the blade that shows through with the entire knife appearing to have seen little if any use or handling (frosting just from storage over time); the cross guard and scales are sharp and in fine condition. The sheath is also in overall fine condition with scattered minor scuffs from storage. Ex-George Taylor collection. Est.: $6,000-$12,000.
