Large and unusual three-bladed knife in a pruning pattern, marked “Fouracres” on the ricasso and “Exter”, probably a London retailer. Approx. 5-3/4” overall (closed) with a 3-1/2” pruning blade, a 4-1/2” timberscribe, and a 4-3/8” saw blade. Shows beautifully grained stag scales with six German silver pins and German silver pommel cap with script initials. German silver bolsters with brass liners. All the blades have a half-stop and snap properly. The timberscribe blade is slow and would benefit from a minor oiling. Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $700 - $1,400.
