Pure white jade with fine decor and wearable as a pendant

This Chinese jade carving has the shape of a gourd and was made during the 20th century. In the symbolism of Taoism the gourd is a symbol of the micro and macrocosm. The pendant is decorated on the front with desired characters and lotus boys in relief. The top edge is highlighted with curved cloud ornaments and an eyelet for mounting can be found ibidem.



The jade shows a beautiful white colour and is of a pure quality. The condition is very good with a few signs of age and wear such as a chip on the side. The height measures 5.5 cm and the width is 4 cm.
