Massive Prehistoric Mosasaur Dinosaur jaw section with large fossil teeth and full root matrix, in the original jaw bone. This is a rare full grown adult tooth and jaw section specimen. Measures 7". Globidens Mosasaur: Mosasaurs are an extinct group of large Marine Dinosaurs that probably evolved from a group of aquatic Lizards known as Aigialosaurs in the Early Cretaceous period, from 100 million to 20 million years ago. After the extinction of Ichthyosaurs and the decline of Plesiosaurs, Mosasaurs became one of the most dominant marine predators in the ancient seas. These dinosaurs breathed air & were powerful swimmers, living in the warm shallow inland seas. They gave birth to live young rather than returning to the shore to lay eggs. Large Mosasaurs were typically longer than 25 feet, with double-hinged jaws & flexible skulls resembling those of modern reptiles. Â
