This decorative Buddha figure is made of wood and was crafted in 18th Century Cambodia. Buddha is depicted on his knees and adorned with red lacquer as well as traces of gilding. In this position he has his hands lifted to his chest and forms theanjali mudra, the gesture of adoration. The figure has a meditative facial expression and the ornate is designed with a floral décor. A head covering with a stepped tip crowns the head.



The wooden figure is in visually attractive condition with signs of wear consistent with age. Loss of lacquer, a restored drying crack and pitting / pest infestation (inactive) can be seen. The height measures 73 cm.
