<B>Railroad Commission Map of Montana.</B></I> Fantastic 40.5” x 50.5” book-bound map of the state of Montana, January 1, 1917. This large and complex map, engraved and printed by the Rand McNally Company, shows four proposed rail lines (Northern Pacific Railway; Great Northern Railway; Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway; and Three Forks, Helena & Madison Valley Railroad) and fourteen existing rail lines in and through the state of Montana. The folded sections of this color map have separated, and the entire map has been professionally restored, with each section affixed to a large linen sheet which folds out from the book cover. Bound in brown cloth with gilt lettering. Covers a bit wrinkled and dampstained, previous owner's ink stamps on the inside front cover.
