The lot features an excellent authentic large fluted Clovis Point from the Naco Mammoth Kill Site in Arizona dating to circa 10,000 B.P. The Naco Mammoth Kill Site is in southeast Arizona, near Naco, Arizona. The Naco site was the first Clovis mammoth kill association to be identified, first identified in 1952. This point is said to be from near Naco and was attributed to the kill site. Overall the point shows a large size with both sides having a third to half length nice flute with red, brown and orange chert material. Overall the point has been finely preserved and would have a high grade. Was purchased from Desert West Auction. Provenance: From a multi-generation artifact collection spanning 80-100 years from Las Cruzes, New Mexico. Measures 3.5”L by 1.25”W and is in riker case that is 6.5”x5.5” by 1” thick.
