Large Caucasian Kinjal Dagger with Ivory Grip and Silver Decorated Sheath
Developed in the Caucasus region, and later adopted by the Cossacks. Double edged single fuller blade, measuring 14 1/2" long, with the deep fullers offset to the left of the spine. Smooth one piece ivory grip, with flared guard and pommel and a pair of silver square decorative pieces secured with floral pattern silver tacks on one side. OAL: 19 1/4". With a brown leather covered wood sheath, brass wire accent in the front seam and iron throat and tip with extensive silver inlaid decorations.

Condition: Very good, with a mixed gray patina on the blade and a small amount of brown patina and spotting. Hilt is good, with age cracks, loose decorative piece on the pommel and attractive color. Sheath shows mild scuffs and scratches, with a dark brown patina on the iron and a mixed patina on the silver, showing a few bright areas, but dark overall.
