Large Apache Burden Basket, measures 14.5 in. x 13 in., tin jingles, The burden basket of the Apache Tribe is one of the most quickly recognized items of material culture of the people. The baskets were once made for every day use in collecting or gathering wild foods, or to cultivate crops like corn. Large burden baskets were sometimes made for food storage. Today however, baskets are made to sell or for special use during the young girls puberty ceremony, or sunrise dance, as many call it today. Burden baskets can come in any size, from a few inches to 3 feet high. The skills of basket making have been passed down from mother to daughter over many generations. Sadly though, it is a dying art form.

Items not paid for upon the non pay warning, will be relisted for resale within 10 days. You represent that you are over the age of 18 and can enter into legal contracts. *** The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, regardless of the time the bids were placed. In the event of a tie between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. All shipping is at the buyers expense, and will be determined after each auction, based on actual shipping charges to designated shipping address, supplied by the buyer.
