Large Abraham Lincoln Tintype Photo in Original Matte and Case This "5 Dollar Bill" pose represents one of the last and most beloved photographs taken of Lincoln. It was widely employed in making 1864 campaign items most of which were much smaller sizes, ranging from "gem" sized images in brass foil frames to somewhat larger tintypes set into carte de visite mounts. The present tintype example is dramatically larger, and is in near mint condition with only a hint of minor light water staining to the paper matte. The original embossed leatherette case shows typical surface wear, and the lid is separated at the hinge. Measurement of the tintype itself is 2.25" x 3.5", with an overall case measurement of 6" x 4.75".

Shipping: Small Collectibles (view shipping information)
