Large 7" x 8" Mammoth Tooth Emb
This complete dark brown Mammoth tooth is still set in a portion of the lower jaw that has been cut away to reveal a very interesting, honey-combed shaped bone structure. The hollows and cavities in the bone helped reduce the weight of the jaw, as well as allowed blood flow. This exquisite fossit is 30,000-50,000 years old from Siberia, where the best preserved Mammoths have been found. The flat surface of teeth was used to grind coarse vegetation. The alternatingrows of dark brown enamel and lighter brown dentine is clearly visible in this museum-quality fossil. A single, intact Mammoth tooth is a highly-desired fossil, but one with part of a cut-away jaw adds much to its desirability and collector value. Add $25 for domestic shipping.
