Spectacular large white jade (mutton fat)carving in shape of an unicorn. The head is detachable and so forms an urn where the head is the lid. This is a master lapidary work done in flawless, homogeneous white jade, practically without inclusions, despite its large size. It dates to mid 18th. century, the Qien Lung reign of the renaissance of ancient arts. Length: 9.5" (24 cm.). height with the head on: 5" (13 cm.), width: 3.1" (8 cm.). Estimated value: $25.000.
