Magnificent large white-celadon jade carving in shape of an urn representing the Buddha's hand. It is decorated in high relief with peaches and ling zhi, both symbols of longevity. This is a master lapidary work done in homogeneous white-celadon jade. The base has a chip on the reverse side dating to the time of creation of this art object and measures 0.2" x 0.8" (0.5 cm. width x 2 cm.) in length that are not noticeable and blends with the carving. The obverse side features pomegranate fruits and Buddha's hand in miniature. The reverse side features peach fruits and leaves. The sides are formed by the hand of Buddha and represented by emergent ling zhi. It dates to early 17th. century. Height: 5" (13 cm.), width: 3.1" (8 cm.). Estimated value: $15.000.
