This is a wonderful Lakota Sioux Native American Indian beaded tomahawk drop from the 19th century. The piece shows excellent glass trade seed beads sewn on red ochre dyed Indian tanned hide with tin jingle cones accenting the top and dark blue/red trade clothe accenting the bottom with long Indian tanned hide fringe. The beadwork shows a chalk white base with semi-transparent sky blue, black, and blue with a fancy beaded edge. The bottom trade clothe shows a fancy beaded edge and beaded cross symbol with additional jingle tin cones having trade clothe accents. The piece is in museum quality condition with little to no bead loss. The piece measures overall 19.5"L x 4.75"W with an additional 13"L top strap that would tie off to the tomahawk. Rare piece.
