The lot features a classic set of beaded hide possible tipi bags from the Lakota Sioux with a nice older vintage 20th-century age. The set shows a typical sized possible or tipi / tepee bag comprised of tanned hide with a dark finish color possibly indicating a moose or elk hide that was further painted showing large sections of classic geometric beadwork at the fronts of each. The beadwork shows classic Lakota geometric patterns and symbols done in glass trade seed beads showing a chalk white background with symbols and border in colors of butterscotch yellow, cobalt, green, and semi-transparent red. The bags top flaps have a fancy beaded edge in glass trade seed bead colors of chalk white, greasy yellow, red white heart, and greasy light blue. The hide has a unique dark red to brown painted dyed color and supple soft finish. The outside edges have metal rolled jingle dangle cone fringes. The tanneed hide bags have some loss to the finish o the back and one small hole on the bottom of one bag but overall display wonderfully. Each bag measures 15-inches wide by 10-inches high by about 3-4 inches deep.
