Thirty-two inserted black and white photographic illustrations including frontispiece portrait and two inserted maps. Index.<BR>Publisher's red cloth covers and spine lettered in gilt, with elephant and palm in roundel stamped in gilt on the front cover. Top edge gilt. Darkened spine, slightly rubbed joints and edges. Altogether a very good copy. <BR><BR>Mary Alice Young Hodgson, the wife of Sir Frederic M. Hodgson, recounts her time in Africa as the wife of the British Colonial Governor of the Gold Coast.
