FINAL AUCTION RECORD The Auctioneer’s podium notes serve as the final, legally binding record of the auction results, superseding any electronic bidding records. See Terms and Conditions
The face of this note features a globe with various work scenes on it while the back has a very allegorical vignette of a train with signs promoting "Progress" and "Plenty" barreling towards a banner inscribed "Stop Progress / Legal Tender Toll Gate" The Labor Exchange workers' cooperative was organized in 1890 by Mr. G.B Debernardi. An association of members deposited goods that they produced into an Exchange Warehouse. For their deposits they received these notes, which in turn could be redeemed for goods withdrawn from the Warehouse. Ultimately the exchange failed in 1901 due to a myriad of issues with the plan. 2.25 x 5.25" Heavy wear.
