<B>Label Sample Album of Henry Hoffmann, Lithographic Engraver and Designer, c. 1891-1922,</B></I> 14" x 11.25". Filled with 885 colorful labels, signs, and original art, the album showcases the work of one Philadelphia's most accomplished commercial artist. Included are labels from druggists, perfumers, food companies, bottlers, and tobacconists. There are familiar products, like Coca-Cola and Campbell's Tomato Soup, as well as many products that have long since disappeared, such as, Boisnot's Japanese Headache Cologne and Boston's Best Dance Hall Wax. The album is sold with an 80 page ledger used by Hoffmann to record his own poetry, reminiscences, and thoughts. The ledger also has newspaper articles and tributes dedicated to Herr Hoffmann. The ledger entries are written in German.
