LOUISE BROOKS 3 T.L.S.'s
1432. LOUISE BROOKS (1906 - 1985) Progressive American silent film star whose bobbed haircut became a national rage. Good lot of three fine content, acerbic T.L.S.'s signed in various colored indelible pencil, 3pp. total, 4to., Rochester, ca. 1965. In small part: "...Lillian Gish amused me...She is built for the plow. Cameras and costumes refined her...[my family] never gave a fart for me after my money ran out and I am feeling no sorrow for the estrangement...[my brother told me] what a failure I was, that I was `kicked out of Paramount', and that I had always been a whore...I would be lying if I did not own up to the fact that this little pansy-pleasing cult centered around me does not give me some satisfaction...". Brooks also alludes to the marriage of Virginia Cherrel and Cary Grant: "...she was finally fed up sleeping in the middle...with Randolph Scott on the other side...I despise Hollywood. Always did!". Very good. $100-150
