Watercolor on paper, abstract fauvist forest scecne. Signed by Louis Redstone (American/Canadian, 1903-2002) and dated 1979. 10.5 x 6.5 inch (26.67 x 16.51 cm). A dedication from the artist to Lester & Kathleen (Kitty) Arwin, owners of The Arwin Galleries (Detroit, Michigan, United States) on verso. Louis Redstone was a famous Detroit architect, studied at Cranbrook, whom was noted for the idea of attaching garages to homes. Instead of photographs, Louis often painted small "pictures." The Arwin Gallery represented Louis Redstone and other Canadian-American artists due to its close proximity to the American-Canadian border. PROVENANCE: The Arwin Galleries, Detroit, Michigan, United States; thence by descent.
