LOT OF orig AND REPRODUCTION CIVIL WAR SOLDIER'S PERSONAL ITEMS AND MEMORABILIA. A miscellaneous lot of interesting small objects that may have been carried by the typical officer or enlisted man in the Civil War. 1) Pair of doeskin gauntlets of buff color with stitched decoration on the cuffs. CONDITION: Good. Fingers and palms are darkly stained. 2) Officer's utensil set. Ivory handled folding fork and spoon in nickel silver. CONDITION: Very good. 3) Cased compass. Unmarked, mid 19th C. compass in a brass case. CONDITION: Excellent. 4) Leather wallet. Folding Civil War period leather billfold of rather large size, measuring 5" x 7" when closed. Exterior is of brown leather; interior is lined in red Russian leather. CONDITION: Very good. 5) Pair of cast brass US army regulation enlisted man's cavalry spurs. CONDITION: Very good. Complete with orig straps. 6) Pair of mid-19th C. utility knives, simple walnut handled side knives. One 8" long, the other 10" long with a clipped point. CONDITION: Good. 7) Maroon silk sewing kit, or "soldier's housewife." CONDITION: Shows wear, material slightly tattered. 8) Small glass and pewter flask. 9)The remaining items are typical shaving and smoking accoutrements: 2 straight razors, sharpening stone, wooden matches, tobacco, along with a reproduction comb.
