Interesting lot including five of the early rarely found Applehead Skookums by Mary McAboy. The black faced items in the lot are of this variety, one has the original 1914 label on the bottom of the foot. Also included are six non-Skookum dolls made by Mary Frances Woods from Portland, Oregon. There is a larger doll with hard composition head with construction similar to those found on Horsman dolls. There is one small doll with celluloid face, and two small dolls whose torsos contain tape measurers. There is also one later lighter faced doll which is a Japanese reproduction. The remainder of the dolls in the lot appear to be authentic Skookums dolls, many in boxes or with stickers on the feet. Among others are five miniature papoose on cradle board with mailing cards, five "sitters", one 16" chief in original box, three 11" dolls in original boxes, three other 11" dolls not in boxes, 6" child in the original box, a pair of 6" children in the original box, 9" baby is swaddling attachment, four 10" children, two 7" children, two small children in backpack holders, and one whisk broom. The lot also contains two original Skookum apple labels, a Skookum coloring book Copyright 1927, and some Skookum sheet music with the apple face doll on the cover. SIZE: Largest 16" (42 cm). Smallest 3" (8 cm). CONDITION: Very good to excellent (most worn are the early Applehead dolls). 1-13157
