Lot # 1259 LOT OF 2 BLACK BOARD GAMES. One of the most desirable categories for board game collectors. 1) Milton Bradley "Darkey Ten Pins", Springfield, Mass. Circa 1900-20. Bowling type game includes all ten die-cut black caricatures holding watermelons. These stand-up figures are dressed in striped pants and red tux jackets. Paper label cover shows black boy in rags being hit by bowling pins and ball. 2) "Watch on De Rind" by All-Fair, Churchville, N.Y. Copt. 1931. Large format box opens to reveal standup target game. Remarkably, game includes all six original wooden target balls and spring launching catapult. Duplicating box cover, target face itself, shows three black children with stereotypical exaggerated negro features. All boys are shown holding watermelon slices. SIZE: Largest is 11-1/2" x 11-1/2". CONDITION: 1) Cover is generally good, plus with split at one corner and two edges, crease runs 2" into label image. Contents are very good with no deterioration to figures. 2) Box top has splits at two corners with light to moderate edge wear. Some light surface creasing. Cover images remain strong.
