LNER cart lamp with a huge brass plate on the sloping top lettered "London & North Eastern Railway MELTON MOWBRAY". An oval brass Polkey maker's plate on the back. Complete with vessel; LNER brass/ceramic burner; and reflector. Slight damage to the bezel. Melton Mowbray GNR/LNWR Joint station opened in 1879 and closed in 1953.
