Verona, romanticized by Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", comes to live in this lovely watercolor by Norfolk, Virginia, listed artist Bertha Fanning-Taylor (1888-1980). Ms. Taylor was born in NYC by later made Norfolk her home. She was a painter, lecturer, writer, teacher, critic and museum curator. She studied at Hunter Col. Woman's Art Sch.; Cooper Union, with Bryson Burroughs; Univ. Montpellier, France; Sorbonne; Ecole Louvre; Atelier d'Art Sacred, with Maurice Denis; G. Desvallieres. Exhibited extensively throughout France and the USA. This piece is in excellent condition. Signed and dated lower left. Framed behind conservation, non-glare glass. Measures 20.5"W x 17.25"H.
