LILFORD THOS. LITTLETON POWYS, 4th Baron. Coloured Figures of the Birds of the British Islands. 7 vols. Port. frontis & 421 chromolitho plates by Thorburn, Keulemans, Lodge & Foster, as called for. Some browning, foxing and spotting, personal viewing recommended. Half brown morocco. 1885-1897. With accompanying correspondence from W. N. Pitcher & Co., bookseller, Manchester, c.1902, explaining that the original owner was William B. Collier, as per the subscribers list, and that the volumes are bound so that "between nearly every description of the bird, several blank guards (or stubs) are left for the purpose of insertions, either text or plates; which makes the volumes wider at the back than at the foredge".
