1073. LEON TROTSKY T.L.S. 1p. 8vo., [n.p.], July 31, 1924, in Cyrillic to top-ranking Bolshevik leader and renowned feminist Alexandra Kollantay. In part: "...Just yesterday Natalya Ivanovna received your warm regards...when I was in Sukhumi. I wouldn't know why it took so long for the letter to get here. There was your book with the letter, which I read with much interest...Sending you my latest books with many thanks for your time...". Kollantay (1872 - 1952), was first commissar for public welfare in the Bolshevik government, advocating the simplification of marriage and divorce procedures. She was the first woman to serve as a minister to a foreign country when she was made Minister to Norway in 1923. Boldly signed in Trotsky's usual greasepencil. Mounting strip at left margin on verso which covers two file holes, light docketing, overall very good. A super association piece! $500-700
