Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# P.78023. Fantastic example of one of the last and scarcest Commercial Lugers made by Bern, limited to 917 examples, numbered in the rare “P” prefix serial range, this one assembled in 1947 in the serial block P77941-P78258. Standard configuration 1929 Bern with 4.75” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and “U” notched rear sight. Swiss Cross on middle toggle link. Full serial number on barrel, left rail, and rear toggle link. Matching sideplate; last three digits electro penciled on receiver lug. Various small parts with usual inspector’s stamps. Encircled W/F logo at rear of receiver. Black grips. MAGS: magazine with chocolate brown base. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Military holster dated “35” with previous owner name (Plt. Stouky) impressed on flap, shoulder strap. VG holster with supple leather, scuffed with some fading. CONDITION: crisp; 98% crisp original salt blue, showing just the lightest high point holster wear and fading of grip screws. Virtually all the blue on front/backstraps. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. Sharply checkered grips, commensurate with overall condition. Near-mirror bore. Near excellent manual mechanics.
