This log was loaded at the Port of Astoria terminals for shipment East as an exhibit of the West Coast Lumbermen's association at Peoria, ILL. The log was take from the woods by the Saddle Mountain Logging company at its camp near Astoria, hauled out over the Lewis and Clark Railway and dumped into that stream rom where it was towed to the Astoria port docks for loading on two special cars. The timber is 81 feet, 98 inches in diameter at the large end and 64 inches at the small end. It weighs 98,850 pounds and contains 22,000 feet of lumber. Approx. 21" by 17". Real Photo.
