Rachel Lewis, American, early 19th century, silk on linen. Sampler with arcaded floral and strawberry border, sawtooth inner border, facing pairs of birds, bellflowers in baskets and a floral wreath surrounded her name. The lower half is divided by a closely worked geometric band. 31"h. 21"w., in a frame, 34"h. 24"w.
Condition: Clean ground with bright colors, a few small losses. Areas appears unfinished rather then picked out.
