LARGE GAMING & GAMBLING SET BELONGING TO FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHER CARL MOON. Size: 21-3/8 x 12-1/4" x 4-1/4", leather case with numerous compartments containing five celluloid dies from unknown game; Rosewood & ivory Bezique counter; 28 white on black celluloid domino's; four large deep amber-like colored dies; two game counters; and turned ivory dice box. There is a viewing hole in the bottom and 250 racer on horseback chips; 100 white, 100 red & 100 blue in two different shades. There are also three decks of cards including one deck of Blue Ribbon Pinochle, in orig box, box of Kodak playing cards converted by hand for fortune telling and last, but certainly not least, is a box of American Indian playing cards, ca. 1900. Cards have a Navaho blanket on the back, gold edges & Adam Vroman photos for South West Indians. Most tribes are represented including many who are not normally considered among the important Indians. Many photos involve the Moki Indians. This deck of cards is in a gold printed dbl slipcase & the cards are nearly new. Each of these items are in their individual compartments, five of which have covers. Key does work the lock. Top of the case has a gold stamp marking "C . MOON". This case & contents are pictured on page 357 of Driebe's book on the life & photography of Moon.
