LARGE DINOSAUR TOOTH
Albertasaurus libratus
Cretaceous
Two Medecine Formation, near Browning, Montana
This large Tyrannosaurid tooth displays deep mahogany-colored enamel with good serrations. It measures 2¼ inches over the curve, and gives an idea of the fearsome sight this carnivorous theropod would have presented, with a mouth full of around 59 others equally sharp. It was a smaller creature than others of the Tyrannosauridae; the larger ones tended to have fewer teeth. The first remains of this species were found in Alberta, Canada, and named thereafter in 1905 by long-time president of the New York Zoological Society, Henry Fairfield Osborn.

Shipping: Requires 3rd Party Shipping (view shipping information)
