<B>LARGE AMPHIBOLITE SPHERE</B></I><BR> <I>Dundas, Tasmania, Australia</B></I><BR>This large amphibolite sphere has been fashioned by a master sphere maker from Melbourne, Australia. Amphibolite is a grouping of rocks composed mainly of amphibole (as hornblende) and plagioclase feldspars, with little or no quartz and is a term that is restricted to metamorphic rocks. The boulder that was used to make this large sphere was from the Australian island of Tasmania and was quite sizable given the finished size of the sphere. Large spheres such as this require special equipment.
