LARGE 19TH CENTURY CARVED MAHOGANY MARBLETOP

CONSOLE TABLE. The console with white Carrera marble top with molded edge, serpentine front, turret corners, and half serpentine sides. The console carved with full body Egrets in deep relief posed with arched neck and beak resting on its breast; wings partially outswept and joined to the front of the acanthus carved cabriole leg. The base with scrolled volutes. The front legs support a flame mahogany veneered lower shelf with half serpentine sides and Cupid’s bow shaped front. The whole raised on two-toed bird’s feet. The console with wide apron of flame grained mahogany veneer a Classical style floral filled urn at the center, flanked by scrolling foliate borders. The sides each applied with a central floral cartouche. The rear support is comprised of a mahogany panel with an oval mirror plate within an oval surround at the center. SIZE: 38” h x 51” w x 25” d. CONDITION: Marble has a repaired diagonal break at the rear corners. Professionally repaired and polished, otherwise great condition. (05-251/JJ). $500-1,000.
