<td width="100%">
The ambitious, enigmatic Albertus Duke Fridladiae Graf v Wallenstein (1583-1634), with his impossible schemes for German unity, was the most succesful and charismatic general in the Thirty Years War. He had lost the support of the Emperor in 1634 and had withdrawn to Ever in Bohemia, where he was assassinated by Irish and Scottish mercenaries formerly in his service. This large copper charger is embossed, chased, engraved and hand painted (oil) with the portrait of Albertus. Dimension : 16-7/8 inches ( 43 cm) in diameter, excellent condition. We believe this lovely piece dates back to the second half of 19 th century. Please note that in some cases photo sizes are automatically reduced, so if you want to see full size or detailed pictures, please email us.
