Stan Sanders Collection lot of 9. Keeley embossed bottles have long fascinated collectors. Their bright sun-purple color accompanied by full face embossing involving a “gold cure” entices investigation. The Keeley Institute’s long association with Northern Nevada always kept open the hope that an embossed bottle would be found from Keeley’s Carson City facility. Keeley wanted to be sure his cure was different from any other medicine, cure, or poison. He had a bottle designed to sell in pairs, with a curved front and a flat back, so the pair could be sold back to back as a package. The bottles were designed in 1879, and the first were produced in 1880. See catalogue for full description! City: Dwight County: Livingston State: IL
