L. Clark Marked Half Stock Percussion Rifle with German Silver Inlaid Stock

The light scroll and game bird scene engraved lock plate is marked "Henry Parker/Warranted" ahead of the hammer. The top barrel flat is marked "L. CLARK" behind the rear sight. Consignor notes state that Lorenzo Clark is listed in Alabama, Geneseo County, New York, circa 1848-67 and Henry Parker is in Birmingham England, circa 1852-55. Equipped with double set triggers, fixed sights and barrel tang tapped for sight mounting. The nicely figured half stock has 12 German silver overlays and a German silver forend cap with brass crescent buttplate, trigger guard and patch box. Radiating lines accent the patch box screws, otherwise the patch box is plain. The German silver ramrod pipes hold a hickory ramrod.

Very good. The barrel has a smooth crisp dark patina with a mixed gray patina on the action. The brass has a smooth aged patina. The German silver is excellent. The stock is good with a few minor handling marks. Hammer does not release properly from the full cock position.
