L. C. Smith “Monogram” grade 12ga side by side shotgun, 3” chambers, 32” barrels, single trigger, auto ejector, beavertail forend, finished on may 11th, 1922, shipped May 11th, 1922 to Abercrombie & Fitch, serial #RE47429. With all features confirmed by factory letter. The barrels show Sir Joseph Witworth fluid steel markings, and made to order by Hunter Arms. The gun shows a non-ventilated raised rib marked “MonogramGrade” at the breech with gold-line ahead of the engraving. The locks are very finely engraved with bank-note scrolls and rosettes. The breeches of the barrels are also engraved. The trigger shows a like bank-notepattern. The gun is stocked in select walnut with fancy fleur de lis borders, and raised designs. The stock shows a raised cheekpiece and hard leather recoil pad. The stock measures 13-3/4” to the end of the wood,14-3/4” to the end of the hard-rubber pad. The barrels show 85-95% original blue just some beginning toning and aging. The frame and lockplates show 75-85% case hardening drifting slightly with some good rainbow
