<B>L. B. Cole - "Hell" Painting Original Art (1980). </B></I> Creator of more than 1500 covers, the late L. B. Cole remains one of the top-ranked talents in the history of comic book art. Cole is famous for the bold, flat hues of his self-described "poster color covers." He was accomplished at every subject, from funny animals, to superheroes, to jungle girls, to science fiction, to crime, to fantasy. Cole was also the publisher and cover artist for Star comics. This feverish fantasy, titled "Hell," recalls elements of his fan-favorite covers to <B>Suspense Comics </B></I>#11, <B>Startling Terror Tales </B></I>#10, <B>Blue Bolt Weird </B></I>#115, and <B>Mask Comics </B></I>#2, and it was showcased in the Cole feature article for the <B>Overstreet Price Guide </B></I>#11. L. B. Cole has signed this mixed-media masterwork in the lower right.
