[L#3220] 1912-D 5c PCGS MS66
Lustrous satiny nickel gray surfaces with almost diaphanous champagne highlights. With nearly full hair, head and star details on the obverse, it displays extremely clean fields and devices. The small D mintmark was put in an out-of-the-way spot below the circular "stop" just to the left of the denomination. A truly beautiful gem specimen of a popular branch mint issue from our high-mountain state coining facility. Authorized to strike coins in 1906, the Denver Mint began producing nickel five-cent pieces in 1912.
