[L#3089] 1921-S 1c PCGS MS64 Red
Struck from a moderately worn obverse die. This lovely Mint State 64 is glowing with deep, multicolored luster. Cherry-red and pink-red shades are both in evidence, but we are hard pressed to find even a single carbon fleck or abrasion. Very scarce as such.

All 1921-S cents were coined early in the year, before a nationwide recession slowed business activity. Due to slack demand from banks, the San Francisco Mint still had in its vaults on June 30, 1922, some 15,493,230 cents awaiting distribution. Thus no more were coined until the latter part of 1923.
