[L#1199] 1925-D $20 PCGS MS64
Full flowing luster on either side, with surfaces satin gold and ever so pleasing to the critic's eye. This is a well struck example of a scarce Saint-Gaudens issue. Denver (and San Francisco) double eagles weren't all that unusual at the time of issue, but then, with the seizure of America's gold by the government in 1933-37, many 1925-D dated pieces went to the melt pots. The few survivors tend to be more bagmarked than this delightful specimen, more bagmarked, less frosty, less desirable. That is why we direct your attention to the present Mint State 64, a coin whose fully struck devices and glistening fields support the grade one hundred percent.
