[L#1129] 1903 $20 PCGS PF64
The deeply struck, mirror-like surfaces are draped in brilliant warm-golden patina and show minimal toning or haze. There are a few light hairlines in the left obverse field, but the fields themselves show great "depth" and watery reflection. This proof is fully struck on the main devices, as seen in the photos but which is even more impressive viewed at first-hand. Full, sharp stars, complete hair waves and curls along with Liberty's hair bun. The edge of the coronet is lines with a string of 13 pearls or beads. On the reverse, which is designer James Barton Longacre's 19th century masterpiece, shows glittering originality and pleasing ornate quality. Not a single defect or spot occurs, which advances this coin to the high end of its grade class, potentially topping many another provisional "Proof 65" specimen.
