[L#1127] 1884 $20 NGC PF64 CAM
A boldly struck and well preserved example of this very rare coin in near gem condition. The obverse shows only faint hairlines, and the frost is slightly irregular on Liberty's neck, perhaps as struck. A scant 71 were struck in proof, and most are in far lower grades than seen here. Abundant eye appeal and proof gold is simply spectacular to view and no doubt own. NGC has graded 4 examples of this date as such, with a single coin seen finer. Identifiable by a small group of nicks below the A of STATES.
