[L#1088] 1875 $10 NGC PF65 UCAM POP 1/0 FINEST GRADED
A downright dramatic two toned or "cameo" Proof exhibiting brilliant golden bloom and resplendent mirror quality. The "orange peel" effect is in full operation on both surfaces, and is clearly evident (best when viewed under low power magnification). Extremely rare in all grades, only 20 Proof Eagles were sold at the time, and collectors, in the intervening 130 years have tended to mishandle all too many of the remaining survivors. Here is a stellar coin that is clearly head and shoulders above the rest in terms of originality, surface freshness, sparkle and gleaming "ultra cameo" effects. The coin is housed in NGC holder 1720205-001 and may become a centerpiece for a major rare coin collection.
