With the usual localized weakness in the strike at the shoulder and rounded bottom of the bust, left rim dentils, left reverse rim dentils, and some of the stars below the clouds. Pleasing light to medium gray color; some marks in the hair and off to the left side of the obverse; also, there is a small old-time scratch touching C in AMERICA.

The most famous date in the half dime series is 1802 of which 3,060 were minted. When the first specimen was recorded in 1863, only three could be traced (all much worn); today there are a few dozen known.
