Kwan Yin sits in lotus position with vase of the nectar of
compassion . She has a serence smile as she holds the tarjani
mudra- warding off all evil spirits. This bronze Buddhist icon
looks quite old and unique with very detailed carving. Their are
chinese characters carved on both the front and back. Grains
were left inside to feed the eternal spirit of this bodhisattva.

Note- on close inspection you can see the small tip of one finger
has been broken off the mudra hand.

Quan Yin is one of the most universally beloved of deities in the
Buddhist tradition. Also known as Kuan Yin, Quan'Am (Vietnam),
Kannon (Japan), and Kanin (Bali), She is the embodiment of
compassionate loving kindness. As the Bodhisattva of
Compassion, She hears the cries of all beings. Quan Yin enjoys a
strong resonance with the Christian Mary, the Mother of Jesus,
and the Tibetan goddess Tara.
